Freedom, Gratitude & YOU

The following is a special message of gratitude from Brian Kaskavalciyan, Founder and Lead Marketing Strategist of g|Four Marketing Group:

WC Nov image_Brian 2This week, Adi and I went to an awesome event called Wings, Wheels and Water at the Fort Lauderdale Airport that featured some really cool toys: Ferraris and Lamborghinis (wheels), private planes (wings) and boats (water).

At the end of the night, I noticed a private jet that was getting ready to take off. The picture here was taken by one of Adi’s friends - you may not be able to tell but I was completely mesmerized.

Here's a quick backstory to explain why...

I’m not exactly sure when it started, but at some point early in my entrepreneurial career I realized that I became an entrepreneur for the simple reason that I craved freedom...

Freedom to earn as much as I could, freedom to spend my time as I wanted, etc. And I was willing to do whatever it took to get freedom. I would imagine it’s much the same for you.

(It’s long been my contention that us entrepreneurs all go into business for ourselves to reach, gain, get freedom - freedom of time, money, relationships, creativity, etc. - and it’s this goal that keeps us going when things are good and when things are bad.)

Back then, in my mind, nothing represented the idea of freedom more than a private jet. If you were to own a private jet, you could just make a phone call, and within a couple of hours be on your way anywhere you wanted - and of course if you had that ability, money also was not an issue in your life.

While I was standing there watching the plane get ready, I couldn’t help but start thinking back over the 20+ years I’ve been on this journey.

My first thought was of gratitude. About how grateful I am for being able to do it my way after all these years later.

Second, I couldn’t help wonder if I’ve achieved the freedom I was looking for all those years back (answer: yes and no).

As you well know, being in business for yourself is NOT easy. It’s not a walk in the park. There are no guarantees of success. But, it can also be one of the most rewarding things you do with your life.

I believe every so often we have to remind ourselves of why we are on the journey. Why we made the decision to go into business for ourselves. I think it gives us a fresh perspective and reignites our motivation, our drive (I know it does for me).

So last night, I also thought about YOU. We just have a few weeks until 2015 is over and 2016 begins… this might be as good a time as any for you to remind yourself about the freedom(s) you were after when you went into business for yourself. Then ask if your business is providing them to you? If so, I’m happy for you. If not, why not? What has to be different?

Is there anything I can do?

Just drop me a note and let me know.

Dedicated to Your Success,

Brian Signature

By the way, people ask me all the time what the heck the g|Four in g|Four Marketing Group means, where did I come up with the name?

The private jet I fell in love with over 20 years ago was the Gulfstream IV (aka g four), the plane last night was that very plane… it was just as beautiful and exciting last night as it was all those years back. And for the record, I do not own that jet (some of you will ask), but maybe, just maybe someday...
